When you are about to fence a bout, make it so your arm is about halfway extended enough to allow agility but still give you premium reach. With your arm being extended you should always be threatening the target by having your tip pointed at them, and make it so that your bellguard cover the line of sight your opponent has on your forearm, and elbow. this really helps if you perfect it because it makes it harder for them to score arm, hand, and wrist shots you when you have a very well En Guarde.
